InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam
SEA Consult Projects were appointed to provide Concept Design and Project Consultancy services for the complete enhancement and refurbishment of the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort in Koh Samui.
The project is to consist of all hotel facilities as well as 40-key guestrooms, 40 luxury cliff and beach villas on a hilled prime beach location on the western side of Koh Samui.
The InterContinental managed Samui Baan Taling Ngam has six outdoor swimming pools and children’s wading pool, Jacuzzi, one tennis court, and a jogging track. For health and well-being, there is a new two-villa spa cluster, with a complete health and beauty spa, and a newly constructed state-of-the-art fitness center.
Responsibilities to be undertaken include concept and design development, feasibility studies, value engineering and coordination, tendering of contracts and full construction supervision with the InterContinental Hotel Group’s architectural and technical team.
- Concept and Design Development: Development of detailed concept design brief for the project design team. Co-ordination and supervision of design development with architects, engineers, interior designers, hotel operator and landscape architects.
- Tender Review of Contracts: Due to the complex nature and fast track requirements this project and we used the EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Management Contracting) system for the tendering of contracts and construction. This enabled us to timely contract the construction with reputable firms who are able to provide the quality required within the tight time frame.
- Construction Supervision: The project construction period is expected to be 10-months during which time we are responsible for the daily supervision of the construction works.
